Heading out in Limerick this month? Here's your guide.
Upstairs at Dolan’s, Thursday 14th
British folk guitarist John Smith is taking his talents to Dolan’s on Thursday the 14th. If you’re a fan of José González, Ray Lamontagne or even the greats like John Martyn, you’ll be at home at Smith’s gig. Beautiful, soothing vocals matched with intricate and inventive guitar, what more could you ask for?
The Stormy Teacup, Thursday 21st
On Thursday the 21st, Lewis Watson will play an intimate gig in The Stormy Teacup. First gaining a following on Youtube, Watson went on to release his first full length play (The Morning) in 2014, with the deluxe edition featuring an astonishing 37 songs. You can hope to hear the best of these, and some of the new ones from his second album ‘Midnight,’ in one of Limerick’s most loved spots at the end of the month.
Nile St. James
Ormston House, Friday 22nd
Want to catch an up-and-coming artist before they hit the big time? If so you should head down to Ormston House on Friday the 22nd for Nile St. James. The young Limerick native is making waves in the Irish music scene and despite being relatively new to the gigging scene, has already opened for Gavin James, Hudson Taylor and Wyvern Lingo. One to watch.
